01 / THE GATHERING
A journey without end.
Across the plains, the herd gathers. A movement becomes a current, carrying thousands of lives towards the river.
A face in the herd
Among thousands of animals, a single gaze brings the story back to one life.

02 / THE CROSSING
The edge of survival.
Dust gives way to water. The hesitation, the leap, the struggle: in the river, the vast migration becomes an intensely individual story. Not all will reach the far bank. Some are taken by the current, others by crocodiles. Their deaths sustain other lives — a stark reminder that this journey feeds more than the herds that make it.
The crossing
The herd pours into the river, each animal trying to reach the far bank.

The leap
A leap from the rocks leaves the safety of the bank behind.

Against the current
With its head above water, a wildebeest struggles to continue its crossing.

The price of survival
A crocodile closes its jaws around a wildebeest. For one, a struggle to escape; for the other, a meal.

Through the water
A crocodile seizes a wildebeest while the others continue their crossing.

Reaching the bank
Still in the water, the last swimmers follow the herd towards the muddy bank.

Up the far bank
On the opposite bank, the survivors climb out of the water and rejoin the herd.

03 / THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
Beyond the river.
The survivors climb the far bank and move on. Behind them, others have lost their lives. Predators and scavengers will feed; the living landscape carries on. As the light softens over the plains, survival and loss remain inseparable.
The journey continues
In the last light of the day, the herd gathers again and the journey continues.

Not all reach the other side.
Life carries on, at a price.
